Library on the Indian government tourist guide boards in 70s
Location of Dharamsala in relation to Tibet's Map

HOURS AND LOCATION

Library hours are from 9am till 5pm, closing for lunch between 1pm and 2pm. The library is open daily, apart from on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month when the library is closed.

The library is located in Dharamsala , India in the northern Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh. The library is housed in a beautiful Tibetan-style building within the Gangchen Kyishong complex (“Gang-kyi”), the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, halfway up the mountain between lower Dharamsala and McLeod Ganj. Walk in through the Gang-kyi gate and then to the end of the road where you will find a stupa. From here, a short staircase extends to the left, up to the library.
