Scholar studying Tibetan Manuscripts

TIBETAN LANGUAGE CLASS - ADVANCED


Starting from March 14, 2008
Time:
10am to 11am

Students in the advanced course reinforce and extend their command of Tibetan grammar and idiom. The principal aim of this class is to help students become confident and fluent in spoken Tibetan. Aspects of Tibetan culture and religion are introduced to provide a basis for students to discuss Buddhism in Tibetan.

•  H.H. the XIV Dalai Lama's My Land and My People (DIIR publication)


Teachers

Kunsang Choedon was educated at the Central School for Tibetans, Poanta, Himachal Pradesh, and graduated with Shastri degree in Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan studies from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi in May 2006. She joined the LTWA that year and works in the Hindi Section of the Research and Translation Department.

Sonam Gyatso holds an Acharya degree in Tibetan studies and Buddhist philosophy from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi . He joined the Research and Translation Department of LTWA in the winter of 2005.
